About Us
TrakTerra LLC was formed by John and Alma Rorie with the goal of providing something more than just land clearing or mulching. John's background in land management started in Nacogdoches, TX where he was born and raised. He worked for one of the largest land owners in the area preparing land for timber planting and timber management. After a hiatus to honorably serve our country in the U.S. Army, he returned to attend college and later graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University. He then continued his career of service by becoming a commissioned law enforcement officer. Soon after, John was hired by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. to serve as both a State Police Officer and a Superintendent where he was able to fulfill both passions of protecting others and conserving our natural resources. His latest role with TPWD was managing over 9,000 acres of wildlife habitat and public hunting lands in the Brazos Valley. John had over 12 years of service with TPWD before opening TrakTerra LLC.

Alma has a background in corporate retail sales and logistics of home improvement and building supplies, handling diverse and unique situations and consistently leading her market in performance and management. Working with many home builders and contractors gave her insight into an industry that TrakTerra serves, and her connections within the industry have proved helpful in providing quality and cost effective resources to our customers. In 2021, Alma left the corporate world to focus on growing TrakTerra to be the leader for land management services in East Texas and the Brazos Valley.

Our Resources
Aside from our most important resource, our people, we utilize a diverse fleet of equipment.
Our standard workhorse is a Caterpillar 299D3 XE compact track loader with a factory forestry package including class leading hydraulic performance. On this machine we have a 72" cutting width, German made, Prinoth M450s mulching head with hardened knives that are sharpened in the field instead of utilizing carbide teeth which can not be sharpened. This leaves a finer mulch and more acreage covered per hour over other mulchers in this class running only carbide teeth. This machine allows us to get into tight areas, be more selective on vegetation that we remove, and still cover considerable area per day. The Cat is versatile because we are able to add grapples, buckets, augers, and other attachments to complete various tasks.

We also utilize excavators and bulldozers of various sizes, as well as large forestry mulchers in the 300-500hp class of machines for larger projects. We have a mid-sized Kubota tractor to support our larger operations, as well as for seeding and herbicide application. Multiple flatbed trucks, specialty equipment, and UTV's are in our fleet to provide support for areas that are not conducive to supporting heaver equipment.

Utilizing almost exclusively Stihl power tools, we have various pole saws, chainsaws, arborist tools, brush trimmers, etc. to tackle problem trees which need to be cut by hand, manage trees in a manner which is healthier for them, and provide quality product. We also use handheld power tools to manage areas that are too small or steep for larger mechanized equipment such as some pond dams and embankments, ditches, etc.
